What changes

Author, last saved by, comments, application, application version, calculated word count, and estimated editing time are normalized. Selected custom and identifying properties are removed.

What stays safe

Normal mode creates a new DOCX and does not intentionally alter visible text, formatting, images, headers, footers, or tracked revisions.
